SHIT.

LOST.

I am a huge Star Wars movie nerd. I don’t know that much about the extended universe of the novels and video games and shows but I grew up with the movies, playing with the toys (many of which came from the flea market), and insisting that Han Shot First.

How do you feel about Star Wars? What are some of your favorite moments?

  1. I’m barely holding my shit together too so don’t feel too bad. I’ve been a fan of Princess Leia and Boba Fett, since I was a little girl. I’m probably one of the 5 people who doesn’t hate Jar jar Binks, 4 of who are maybe under 8 yrs. old, and I’m totally psyched about John Boyega being in this new movie.

I actually cried during the trailer at that one shot of Han Solo. My way of handling this is to avoid almost all the news and reviews of this movie. The only thing I’ve really done is read a couple of actors interviews. I’m just trying to hold it until I see it, which may not be for another week or two for me. After which I’ll probably melt into a puddle of goo.

YES!!! Goosebumps and tears for like the w hole thing!
I’ve read a few non-spoilery reviews, but the thing that’s got me most trusting is Patton Oswalt’s ‘JJ Did it’ tweet. That man LOVES some Star Wars and has passionate opinions about it – so I trust him. But I’ll try my BEST to be objective.
And yes! John Boyega is like the only person’s name I know, other than the original cast. And there’s a Daisy somebody!
*Han Solo Voice* “… come on baby hold together…”

    2. OH MY GOD GET READY.

Also, make sure you pee before you go. I COULD NOT move from the seat for two hours and I think I almost went into renal failure. 😀

  2. Lando yeehawing as he flew out of the fire of an exploding death star, the grotesque first foray into the Mos Eisley cantina, the attacking At-Ats on Hoth, the x wing trench run, and yes, from Phantom Menace, the moment where some industrial shields come up in the duel between Qui-gon and Darth Maul, seeing Maul pace menacingly, eager to continue while Qui-gon knelt in peaceful contemplation before their final passes. And every single light saber duel/battle. Every. Single. One.

It is down to the final few hours before I’m sitting in the theater; I am so excited to watch the text scroll and channel the inner 7 year old who saw this movie for the first time and embarked on a life of wonder and excitement ever since!

    1. All of what you said just there.
All of the original trilogy. And hell, even a few moments in the prequels – Darth Maul, Qui-Gon and Kenobi’s lightsabers in the smoke in the first opening scene… YODA breaking that saber out and going to work on Dooku…

AND DUDE – you’re seeing it with your boys – you’ll all be able to have a BRAND NEW Star Wars experience together! THAT IS SO GODDAMN COOL! 😀

  3. I still remember the joy I felt when Han and Luke were manning the guns on the Falcon, and they blew up that last TIE Fighter and it just exploded and exploded and exploded some more.
